JANUARY 28,
2006, ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was convened at 5:32 p.m.,
Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Ala Wai Palladium Ballroom.
1. ATTENDANCE: Officers: Chairman,
Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Festival Registrar. The following clubs were
represented: High Hopes, Maui Mixers, Pali Twirlers, and Square Wheelers
and Hayseeds.
2. MINUTES: The Chairman asked for
additions or corrections to the minutes of the January 29, 2005, meeting.
There being none, the minutes were approved as presented.
3. TREASURER’S REPORT: The
Treasurer reported that the Federation’s net worth as of this date is $11,
623.86. The Treasurer’s Report was accepted as presented.
4. COMMITTEE REPORTS:
a. 41st Aloha State Festival:
(1) Registrar’s Report: Henry Staehle
reported on the Festival current attendance figures.
(2) Chairman’s Report:
Chairman David Lemon thanked the membership for the opportunity to serve as
Federation Chairman for the past year. He indicated his intention of moving
to the mainland within the year and therefore would not accept any
nomination to continue as chairman.
b. USA West Convention 2006: No report.
5. CORRESPONDENCE: None.
6. OLD BUSINESS: The Federation
insurance for 2006 has been paid.
7. NEW BUSINESS:
a. Federation Dues: The
Chairman reported that the current dues of $10 for each club member has
adequately covered the Federation’s administrative costs and recommended
that this figure be retained for another year.
c. Election of Officers: The
Chairman announced the annual election of officers and said that his
resignation as Federation Chairman would take effect at the end of this
meeting. After discussion, Henry Staehle and Wilma Seeman were unanimously
elected Federation Co-Chairmen. He noted that Judy Bauckham will be moving
to the mainland next September and that Janet Granich has agreed to complete
her term of office. The 2006 Executive Board is as follows:

8. CLUB REPORTS AND ACTIVITIES
a. Square Wheelers and
Hayseeds: Dave Lemon reported that the Square Wheelers and Hayseeds
continue to dance from 6:30 to 9:15 p.m. every Sunday at the Ala Wai
Ballroom. The new dancers at the Manana Clubhouse plan to form a new club.
b. Pali Twirlers: Janet
reported that the Luau-by-the-Bay was enjoyed by all, as usual.
c. Tsunamis: No report.
d. Big Island Clubs: the
Slewfoot Promenades are starting a new class and the Lava Klinkers continue
to dance the first Sunday of each month.
e. Maui Mixers and High Hopes:
Ruth Fullaway reported that the Maui clubs hope to host another Maui No Ka
Oi Festival after the new ferry starts up and more people are traveling.
The Maui clubs have started to grow with younger people showing an interest
in square dancing.
9. NEXT MEETING: The next meeting
will be called as needed by the new co-chairmen.
10. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting
adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
